Foreign Cover Friday: Evermore by Alyson Noel

Foreign Cover Friday is a weekly meme hosted by The Reading Fever, where foreign covers of the books we know and love are spotlighted and discussed. To join, either pick your favorite foreign cover, or pick many foreign covers, and start discussing!

This week’s featured cover is:

Evermore by Alyson Noel

The one above is the original English cover. I think it’s nice, but it’s too dark.

These are the Portugese, Spanish, Finnish and Catalan editions. They’re all variations of the original cover, but I really like the Finnish title of the book!

Portugese, Spanish and Catalan translation: Eternity                                                                                         Finnish translation: Red tulips

These are the French, German, English paperback and kindle edition and Danish covers.  Like the ones before, these are also variations of the original cover.

French Translation: Everlasting/Eternal

And some more variations! These are the Greek, Slovak and other Spanish editions.

Greek translation: Forever yours                                                                                                          Slovak translation: Forever                                                                      Spanish translation: Forever

These are the German editions. I live them! Those flowers and the birds on the grey sky…Perfect!

The covers above are the Indonesian, Russian and Bulagarian ones. I don’t really like them. The Indonesian one is bizarre and gives me the impression of a children’s book, the Russian cover isn’t fit for the story (and I didn’t like it anyway) and the Bulgarian cover isn’t fit for the story either (not that I was a fan of it).

Russian translation: Eternity                                                                                                                                                                                            I can’t find the Bulgarian translation.

The first cover is another one of the Spanish editions. The seond one is the Turkish cover and the cover on the right is the  Hungarian one. None of these strike my attention in any way.

Spanish translation: Eternity                                                                                                                                                                                        Turkish translation: Eternal

The cover on the left is the Polish cover and the one on the right is the Romanian cover.  The first cover is pretty interesting. As for the Romanian cover, I liked that they changed the color scheme in a warmer one and I like the tulip they used.

And finally, this is the Dutch cover. This one is dark too, so I don’t really like it.

Well, hope you liked it. Tune in next week for more Foreign Cover Friday!

Foreign Cover Friday: Dash And Lily’s Book of Dares

Foreign Cover Friday is a weekly meme hosted by The Reading Fever, where foreign covers of the books we know and love are spotlighted and discussed. To join, either pick your favorite foreign cover, or pick many foreign covers, and start discussing!

This week’s featured cover is:

Dash And Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn, David Levithan

This is the original English cover. I really like it. I love how the setting is a street and how the title and authors are written on those signs. I also like the heart. But, most of all, I like that it is winter and snow. AND heart snow! Perfect cover combination!

This is another version of the English paperback edition. It’s OK, but I don’t think it really goes well with the story and it gives the impression of a children’s book.

The cover above is the German cover.  I like it, it’s cute with that snowglobe and all this snow, but if I would’ve designed this cover, I totally would have ‘erased’ that green thingy hanging above the title.

Translation: Dash And Lily’s Winter Wonderland

These are the Spanish and Italian covers. I don’t really like the Spanish cover, even though they tried to keep the same street theme, that girl ruins everything. And again, it gives the impression of a children’s book.

As for the Italian cover, I LOVE it! I always liked those scrapbook-y themes! And this one is just great! I also like the photos they chose, I think they suit the characters in the book. I’m also in love with the title!

Spanish translation: Book for two

Italian translation: How to spell ‘I love you’

Well, hope you liked it and tune in next week for more Foreign Cover Friday!

Foreign Cover Friday: Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia, Margaret Stohl

Foreign Cover Friday is a weekly meme hosted by The Reading Fever, where foreign covers of the books we know and love are spotlighted and discussed.

                                                             This week I chose:

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

The covers above are the original covers for the book. The first one is the one that was used in UK, Australia and New Zealand. The second cover was used in US and Canada. I like the covers and I think they go very well with the title, but I also think that they are a bit too dark. I love the font!

The first cover is the French one and the second cover is the one that was used in Romania. The cover is nice, and I think it goes pretty well with the story, but the title that was used doesn’t really match.

French translation: 16 moons                                                                                                            Romanian translation: The 16th moon

The first cover is the German cover and the second one is the Indonesian cover. They’re Ok, but they don’t captivate my attention in any special way. Especially the Indonesian one, that gives me the impression that it is a children’s book.

Indonesian translation: Beautiful Love

The cover on the right is the Serbian cover and the one on the left is the Portugese cover. I like the Portugese cover, with its purple background and the white tree. The serbian cover isn’t that great.

Serbian translation: Beautiful Creatures                                                                                              Portugese translation: Sixteen Moons

The ones above are the Catalan and Lithuanian covers. The first one has a resemblance to the US cover but like the US cover, it’s too dark. The Lithuanian cover is cute, I like the color of the background and how the 6 from 16 intertwines with the green swirl.

Catalan translation: Strange Creatures                                                                                             Lithuanian translation: 16 moons

The cover above is the Bulgarian cover. I like it and I think it goes well with the story.

Translation: Beautiful Creatures

And finally, this is the Dutch cover. It has a retro feel, but It’s not one of my favourites.

Translation: Spellbound

Well, I hope you liked it and tune in next week for another Foreign Cover Friday!
